Papers of the Goodell Family
註釋This collection comprises the papers of the family of William Goodell (1792-1878), largely produced by Goodell himself and his daughters Maria Goodell Frost (1826-99) and Lavinia Goodell (1839-80). William and Maria were prominent abolitionists and advocates for temperance; Maria was also a leading campaigner for women's suffrage. Lavinia was the first female lawyer in Wisconsin. Contents include correspondence, sermons, diaries and manuscripts of unpublished books and articles. The papers are listed among the Special Collections & Archives, Hutchins Library, Berea College documents within the "Slavery, abolition and social justice, 1490-2007" resource.
