註釋
A biography of a Jewish woman, born in 1911 in Paris, whose parents had emigrated from Russia. She married in 1935; her husband was mobilized in 1939, captured in 1940, and imprisoned in a POW camp in northern Poland for five years. Rubinstein-Kerjner worked for Galéries G from 1938 and in 1940 was moved to a branch in Rennes (Bretagne), which turned out to be more secure than the capital. The situation of the Jews in France deteriorated due to legislation of the Vichy regime. In order to protect her young daughter, she agreed to convert her to Christianity. Rubinstein-Kerjner's employer saved her life in 1944, when he refused to reveal her true identity to the authorities. Her brother was interned in Drancy, deported in 1942 to Auschwitz, and murdered there. Rubinstein-Kerjner now lives in France.
