The Munshidin of Egypt
註釋This book stresses the Sufi world as it is found in contemporary Egypt, not as a delineation of the details of the orders, but as it is encountered in the religious achievement of the Munshidin. They are the singers, who, in the Dhikr (mystical ritual) of Egyptian Islam, perform a task analogous to the flutes well known among the Turkish dervishes. Their songs contribute a crucial element to the spiritual goals pursued by the adepts. Contents: religio-cultural rituals; religious state of mind; repertoire; musical tradition; the music & models of reality in Dhikr rituals.
