註釋This volume is a collection of papers on urban design issues relating to Canadian experiences and is intended to describe and interpret those issues facing Canadian urban designers. Topics of the papers include the state of urban design in Canadian cities and the processes and forces that have resulted in that state; the role of urban design in the creation of sustainable communities; a comparison of two large-scale developments in Vancouver and San Francisco; urban design and the 'not in my back yard' syndrome; urban design in Canadian prairie towns; skywalks in Calgary and American cities; and urban design in relation to climatic factors.
