Captain Edward Hill of the 16th Michigan Infantry's viewpoints on battles fought during the time from February 16, 1864 to July 27, 1864 through jottings in his diary and scanned military records for Edward Hill from National Archives. Wounded at Cold Harbor, he survived a gruelling trip back to Washington and the medical care there. Hill received a Medal of Honor after the war for his valor at Cold Harbor.
