Paleontological Resources of the Lakes District Land Resource Management Plan (LRMP) Area British Columbia
註釋Reviews the geology and paleontological resources of the Lakes District Land Resource Management Plan area in south-western British Columbia in order to enable resource managers to make informed decisions about land designation issues relating to paleontological (fossil) resources in the area. Begins with an overview of the nature and importance of paleontological resources, and the role of amateur collecting in paleontological research. This is followed by a description of designated fossil sites in British Columbia, the geology of the Lakes District area, and the process used to assess the importance of paleontological sites. Specific recommendations are then made regarding sites felt to be of paleontological significance. The appendix includes a policy on fossil collecting and regulation.
