The Geology and Mineralisation of the St Just District, with Particular Reference to Levant Mine
註釋An attempt is made to integrate field and laboratory (geochemistry, petrology and fluid inclusion) studies, to produce a model for the development of hydrothermal activity in the St. Just district. -- The surface geology between Botallack and Levant Mine, and the sub-surface geology at Levant Mine, is described . The field data are presented on three maps (VOLUME 2) -- New chemical and mineralogical data are presented for samples of thermally metamorphosed and metasomatised basalts and pelites, and hydrothermally altered pelites, basalts and granites. -- The results of a fluid inclusion study of several paragenetically significant ore-gangue samples are also presented. -- The last section of the thesis comprises a review of the inclusion data for S.W. England, the presentation of new inclusion data for several specific mineral deposits from the province, and a discussion of the nature of the Cornubian batholithic hydrothermal system.
