註釋Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) is one of the foremost composers of the 19th-century Romantic tradition. This work fills the continuing need for a comprehensive and international bibliography of Brahms literature worldwide. Continuing the author's previous Johannes Brahms: An Annotated Bibliography of the Literature through 1982, this volume brings access to literature on Brahms and his works up to date through the sesquicentenary of Brahms's birth in 1983 to just before the centenary of his death in 1997.

Extensive cross-referencing and indexes provide systematic access to this body of literature. References from two important retrospective sources are also included: the Works Project Administration Music Periodical Index at Northwestern University, and the Music Division's Periodical Index at the Library of Congress. In addition to the past, this bibliography also looks to the future by utilizing Internet bibliographic aids and referring users to appropriate sites on the World Wide Web. Librarians, scholars, and students will find this book a significant aid in their work on Brahms.
