Effects of Alkali, Cellulase and Cellobiase on the Production of Sugars from Palm Waste Fibre
註釋The yield of fermentable sugars by saccharification of oil palm waste fibres is found to be markedly higher within 48 h when the subrate is swelled by alkali treatments than that when it is simply boiled with alkali. The conversion was as high as 58% when swelling was applied, whereas, it was only 47% with the boiling process. Thus, an increase of more than 10% could be attained by swelling. After this comparison, swelling conditions were then optimised under which the conversion was found to increase to 76% resulting in further increase of 18%.
