Description of a field study initiated in 1983 to investigate the sprouting response of 10-year-old silver maple (Acer saccharinum L.) trees as afunction of month of cutting. A group of trees was cut at intervals of onemonth from June 1983 to June 1984 (a new group every month) and subsequentsprout growth measured. References are included.
