註釋
Second families hold a unique position in modern society. The nature of the splitting up of a family, followed by the forming of another, brings up many questions. This chapter picks out the legal aspects of these questions, and then uses New Zealand as a case study to discuss these issues in context. These issues include relationship property, the proper definition of a stepparent, the responsibilities that a stepparent has over a child, stepparent adoption, inheritance, child support, and the rights a stepparent has in regards to parenting orders.
