註釋Peter Thompson was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, 31 Aug 1810 (parents not listed, but mother could have been Martha). Peter married Mahaley Laney, 22 Oct 1832. She was the daughter of John Laney and Martha Secrest. Peter and Mahaley were the parents of 11 children. The family has lived in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Texas. Peter and Mahaley's grandson, Henry Marion Thompson, married Bettie Lee Hollis in Erath County, Texas, 21 Dec 1902. Henry was from Salem, Erath County, and Bettie was from Duffau, Erath County.
