The Line Width Parameter, T2*, in Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance Spectroscopy
註釋The classical and quantum mechanical theories of the interaction of a nuclear quadrupole moment with an electric field gradient are derived from first principles. Experimental nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) and the Zeeman effect are outlined. The theory of the super-regenerative oscillator {SRO) and its application to NQR spectroscopy is given. The SRO measurements of the temperature dependence of 35C1 resonances and the corresponding inverse line width parameters (T2*) for a series of chlorine containing compounds is given. The contribution of the magnetic, electric and spin-lattice effectsin crystalline compounds to the resonance line width is described and a general theory describing the relationship of these effects on T2* is provided and used to interpret experimental results.
