Encouraging Transport Alternatives
註釋The amount of travel worldwide is on a steady upward trajectory. In Europe this "mobility explosion" is outstripping the growth in population. Whilst this can be regarded positively as a reflection of increasing personal mobility and economic growth it does have unwelcome environmental side-effects. This report presents a range of alternatives available to reduce car-based travel translated to possible policy measures. It approaches the problem from a variety of angles including: reducing travel distance; reducing the number of trips made and reducing vehicle kilometers/number of vehicles involved. The empirical research has mostly been based on the EU DGVII DANTE project.
