Seven days prior, the United Nations sponsored, in New York, an unprecedented gathering of international prime ministers, kings, queens and presidents as they struggled to reach common agreement on the all-encompassing Global Climate Initiative. Whatever it is, it likely was contracted or delivered, there, despite the most intense security operations ever undertaken. As it becomes clear that no country has been spared this dramatic affliction of its leadership, the task to find a solution to this puzzle falls on two young American neuroscientists (with assistance from colleagues on every continent) as they race against time using high tech tools in the next generation medical arsenal to identify the causative agent(s) and manufacture an antidote. Their counterparts in the intelligence and military communities likewise sift through mountains of data to find possible suspects. Suspicious of everyone, old nationalistic scores get seated in the crosshairs. The pace is frenetic, the stakes, too terrifying to contemplate. While the clock ticks toward catastrophe, Jared Faulkner, one of the two American doctors, discovers something about the leaders previously unidentified in the annals of medicine...
