Los lienzos de San Juan Cuauhtla son dos documentos pictogrficos en donde qued plasmada la historia transmitida por la tradicin oral del origen real o mtico- de sus pobladores, su peregrinar por la sierra Zongolica, en Veracruz y la sierra Negra del sur de Puebla, hasta la poza de agua de Atlazitla, donde se origin Cuauhtla. Estos dos lienzos son los dos nicos documentos pictogrficos conocidos de esa regin. / The canvases of San Jun Cuauhtla are two pictographic documents that contain the story of the origin of the settlers of Cuauhtla, their pilgrimage thru the Zongolica mountains in Veracruz, and thru the Black mountains of the south of Puebla, till they arrived to the water source of Atlazitla, where Cuauhtla was founded. (It may be real or mythical) Those canvases are the only known pictographic documents from this region.
