Written in pencil; many edges smudged and illegible. Record of his overland journey from St. Louis to Sacramento. The party had started out in March from Cambria, Wisconsin. The rest of the volume consists primarily of accounts. Also available is transcript of diary entries, with a biographical sketch of Mr. Jones and a copy of his reminiscences of the first leg of the journey from Cambria to St. Louis, translated from the first two installments published 1909 in the Welsh newspaper Y Drych.
