The Plumbline
註釋¿Plumbline¿ considers the things that form an excellent Christian university in the African context. Few of the items considered are exclusively African, most are universal requirements of any fine institution. What is the ¿Plumbline¿ that determines right or wrong? If it professes to be Christian, that can only be God¿s Word, the Holy Scriptures. This small book draws attention to scriptures that relate to issues present in Christian Higher Education, as drawn from the experience of Daystar University.Purpose is a foundational consideration. Any institution that abandons its foundations cannot possibly achieve its purpose. It inevitably substitutes other goals than those that are Biblically-based. A Christian university by definition should be a university with a difference. It cannot fulfill its purpose when most or all differences disappear. These perspectives are considered in ¿Plumbline¿, with the desire to guide Christian institutions to greater fruitfulness in the Kingdom of God.
