註釋Brancusi (1876-1957) is -- with Rodin, his opposite -- the most important sculptor of the 20th century. Born in Romania, he will meet Modigliani and Duchamp in Paris where he settles in 1904. Until the day of his death, he will create out of wood, marble and stone, a work of pure shapes which, often found in nature, blossomed into abstraction. Brancusi was revealed by America thanks to the 1913 Armory Show.
