註釋This is the first public report of the Ontario Task Force on Native People in the Urban Setting. The report is a compilation of research undertaken by the joint government/Native Task Force and reflects aspects of the situation of approximately 3,000 Native people who participated. This report presents a general analysis of government and community services being provided to the respondents. In an honest attempt to avoid the broad generalizations that have historically colored provincial government/Native relations, the research findings represent the situation of the respondents, and should not be regarded as representative of the reality of the total urban Native population. The report reflects fairly, however, the problems of urban Native respondents in gaining access to, and using, community and government resources.
