The album appears to have belonged to Hore Browse Trist, who presented it to Francis Wayles Eppes, in 1820 who presented it to his bride in 1823. Among those who wrote in the album at "Edgehill," "Poplar Forest," "Mill Brook," "Locust Grove," "Leau Noir," and "Monticello" are Cornelia Jefferson Randolph, Virginia Randolph Cary, Virginia Jefferson Randolph Trist, Nicholas Philip Trist, Martha Jefferson Randolph, Jane Hollins Nicholas Randolph, Jane Cary Randolph and Septimia Anne Cary Randolph Meikleham.
