The first deals with thevarious types of surveys and is divided into four subsections covering (i)surficial geology surveys, (ii) land inventory, (iii) soil surveys and (iv)forest ecosystem surveys. In each of these subsections the nature and extentof the appropriate surveys are explained and their usefulness in forestry isdiscussed. The second section is organized on an MNR administrative regionbasis. For each region the areas covered by the various surveys are listed.Reference is made to the master list of sources which is given at the end ofthe report.
