This report contains the major findings of the DIAND Socio-EconomicMonitoring Program of the Norman Wells Oilfield Expansion and PipelineConstruction Project for the period June 1982 to June 30th, 1984. Theobjective of the monitoring program is to measure annual socio-economicchanges in each of the communities over a five-year period (1982 to 1986). This time span represents three stages in development - thepre-construction, the construction and the post-construction stages.
