Instruttione de' bombardieri
註釋Manual on military technology by Gabriello Busca, the last of a family of Milanese metal founders which flourished for more than three hundred years. Busca discusses explosives, and the tools and equipment of artillery, but primarily focuses on the "ball-to-wall" destruction factor so laboriously tested during Busca's 1584 bombardment of Turin's outer fortifications where he "experimented." Chapters deal with combinations of firing location, target distance, charge size, projectile dimension and weight, cannon and arquebus design, and the various duties performed in an artillery battery. According to Bersano Bergey, this is the first book printed in Carmagnola, where Bellone settled after more than a dozen years in the book trade in Genoa.
