註釋The purpose of this paper is to identify both collaborative and non-collaborative approaches to building university/community relationships and to identify factors that have made collaborative approaches beneficial for the communities involved. It first identifies four models of university/community relationships, then presents case studies of a representative sample of four university programs in Canada, the United States, and Great Britain. Factors involved in program success are discussed along with how universities can change to form mutually beneficial relationships with communities.
