An Exploratory Review and Critique of the Literature Relating to Trends and Changes in Higher Education
註釋This report identifies and evaluates several aspects of higher education having implications for AFROTC programs. Growth in higher education is expected to continue with enrollment reaching nearly 12 million by 1985 compared to slightly over 6 million in 1966. The junior college is another area in which growth is expected; there is evidence that the junior college transfer is a poorer academic risk than the student who begins his work in a four-year institution. The growth of graduate education is also examined and it is suggested that doing graduate work is likely to be a model pattern among college graduates in the near future. Also examined are the still experimental residential cluster plans, programs of inter-institutional cooperation, and student demands for involvement in university decision-making and policy-making.
