Le Prof - Part 1
註釋Teaching English in France 2006-2016 'Le Prof - Part 1' is life as seen through the eyes and ears of Bryan James, a somewhat jaded, middleaged, obscure Englishman who is forced to reinvent himself just when he was hoping to take it easy. After a difficult divorce in his native North East England, in this first part (2006-2016) of a two-part memoir, Bryan arrives for a summer break in west France and finds himself selling his much in-demand language for a variety of small language schools for the next five years, culminating in an epic fall-from-grace in Paris. Disappointed with hectic Parisian life, he abandons it all and moves to the rural west where, in a a quiet little village called Chatodo on the banks of the Loire river, new discoveries and challenges await. 'Le Prof' is a revealing litany of how the English language is taught and sold beyond its own shores and is also a wry look at EU migration from the bottom rung of the ladder.
