註釋The purpose of this handbook is to provide an educational resource for health & social service professionals who are providing services to women who are abused during pregnancy. Part 1 covers understanding abuse during pregnancy, including the dynamics of abuse and the impacts of abuse on the woman, foetus, infant, & other children. Part 2 offers guidance on responding to such abuse, with information on potential signs of abuse, considerations when preparing to respond, abuse identification & screening, assessment, intervention, reporting & confidentiality, and documenting abuse. Part 3 reviews prevention strategies and identifies barriers to be overcome in responding to abuse.
