註釋My dissertation has three main goals: (1) to extend the literature on contracting to include an analytical treatment of the governance choices for newly privatized enterprises; (2) to highlight the advantages that may accrue to governments and private investors by choosing one governance arrangement over another; and (3) to perform an empirical analysis on privatized firms to examine the effect of the institutional environment on the distribution of organizational forms across national boundaries. The theory and empirical analysis is developed around the experiences with the privatization of telecommunication utilities in industrial, developing and transition economies.
