This book provides an alternative viewpoint towards classification of systemic pathophysiology. There is a recurring theme, i.e. Embryonic origin and the neuroendocrine basis of disease classification. Pathologies have been classified into inflammatory and degenerative, alpha and beta adrenergic inflammation, pre and postganglionic congenital defect. Hopefully it will complement the current classification of disease and yield a more complete picture of the disease to the reader.

The first three chapters form the crux of the book, followed by systemwise examples of diseases in subsequent chapters. An exclusive chapter on nervi vasorum and the neuroendocrine basis of classification of vascular diseases is the highlight of the book.
