Management of Traffic for High-speed Networks
註釋Abstract: The current project presents an Intelligent data Rate controller (IntelRate) based on Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC), which is used for traffic congestion control in high-speed networks. Existing systems that use Transmission Control Protocols (TCPs) for managing traffic in high-speed networks estimate three parameters (link latency, bottleneck bandwidth, and packet loss rate) to calculate the source sending rate. This causes problems regarding stability, utilization, and fairness to arise. However, the IntelRate only needs to estimate one parameter (Instantaneous Queue Size), which reduces computation and memory usage in network routers. Furthermore, the IntelRate can decide if an action should be taken to regulate the sending rate of the source, which increases the network resilience to internet traffic. Simulation results show that the IntelRate has better performance in link utilization, source throughput, and Instantaneous Queue Size (IQ Size) when compared to other existing controllers.
