註釋In response to requests by various stakeholders for an independent review of proposed environmental quality standards regarding contaminated sites, the British Columbia environment ministry held a workshop to review the proposed standards. The workshop produced a report containing five consensus recommendations. This document presents those recommendations along with the ministry's response to each. The recommendations are related to the preparation of site-specific criteria, standards review, labelling of a site's status, use of standard or alternative evaluation models, and preparation of guidance documents. Responses are also provided to the individual review panel members' recommendations in such areas as level of environmental protection, models & modelling, odour management, regulatory consistency, standards application & development, and verification.
