Canadian Tissue Residue Guidelines for the Protection of Consumers of Aquatic Life
註釋This document reviews the background information & rationale for the derivation of the Canadian tissue residue guideline for methylmercury (MeHg) for the protection of wildlife consumers of aquatic biota. It includes information on the physical & chemical properties of MeHg, the sources & uses of mercury, the production of MeHg and its sources & pathways into the environment, the environmental fate & behaviour of MeHg, the bioaccumulation of MeHg in aquatic & semi-aquatic organisms, the distribution & levels of MeHg in the Canadian environment (in both biological & non-biological media), and the toxicity of MeHg to piscivorous organisms. Finally, existing tissue residue guidelines for MeHg are reviewed and the derivation of the Canadian guidelines is explained.
