註釋The aim of this study is to determine the extent of trace organic contamination of water and sediments of remote, poorly accessible lakes located on the Canadian Shield. Water and sediment samples were collected from Quebec LRTAP network lakes from 1988 to 1990. Samples were analysed for PCBs, CB and PAHs. Levels found in this study are compared with those of other areas studied and with water quality guidelines established by government agencies. Recommendations for future monitoring programs are discussed.
