A New Priest for the Bush
註釋It is owing to the early settlers of the Bland District that the first churches were built. For those coming to the then outback areas, the need for a church was high on the list for the newcomers, especially the women. Few pleasures were available for lonely hard-working wives and thoughts of church to baptise, marry or bury were high on their agenda. The resilience and self-sufficiency of these families would prove over the years that faith in God, building a church and having a clergyman, helped to make inhospitable life worthwhile, a uniquely Australian inheritance.
