Priests in Working-class Blue
註釋A history of the worker-priests, those one hundred French and Belgian Catholic priests who, from 1943 to 1954, entered factories to take up manual labour as an essential facet of their ministry to the industrial work force. Using primarily interviews with approximately one-half of the original worker-priests, along with others (priests, theologians, journalists, trade unionists and Communists) who observed the movement second hand, the author has fashioned an intimate portrait of their lives, how their ideas changed and developed, and, finally, the controversy with the Church's leadership that tore them apart.
