Colonel Gray and the Armoured Cars
註釋Trying to maintain order in a colonial bastion, the British police in Malaya faced a Communist insurgency. This paper examines the controversial period in which Colonel William Nicol Gray served as Commissioner of the Malayan Police and demonstrates the complex political environment that eventually achieved statehood for Malaysia. The inscrutable Gray was much criticized at the time. By examination of key documents and interviews with witnesses, Hurst presents a balanced historical account that helps in understanding Gray's position.
