This anthological edition was coordinated by Irma López y Hugo Neira (actual Director), and beautifully illustrated with color photographs by Yonel Campos that depict the binding, design and illustrations of each of these bibliographic treasures. The collection includes a copy of the "Doctrina Cristiana y Catecismo para Instrucción de Indios", the first book printed in Perú and South America as well as also invaluable documents like the correspondence and manuscripts of former presidents: Andrés Avelino Cáceres, Nicolás de Pirola and Manuel Pardo; of literates José María Eguren, Ricardo Palma, Abraham Valdelomar, César Vallejo and José María Arguedas; and other personalities like José de la Riva Agüero, Julio C. Tello, Manuel González Prada and Juan Mejía Baca. The collection is classified in 15 different topics: colonial baroque, catechisms and languages, costumes, imaginary fauna, history, Humboldt, imaginary Incas, women and "tapadas", colonial intellectuals and ethnologists, traveling and maps.
