註釋Contains essays by former residents relating the history of the Jewish community of Ratne in Ukraine, from the 18th century. In the 1930s there were ca. 370 Jewish families in Ratne. Pp. 483-613 describe the fate of the community in the Holocaust, including the Nazi occupation in June 1941, anti-Jewish laws, and forced labor. In August 1942 most of the Jews in the town were killed by the Nazis or by Ukrainians.
