註釋
Ultranormal is the first book dedicated to the work of Brazilian artist Ana Linnemann, presenting her work produced between 1994 and 2012. The work of Linnemann can be explained, as critics point out, from a central theme: the offset of the ordinary. By placing banal objects in unusual situations, the artist shows how small changes enable doubting what always seemed obvious and natural. In "O mundo como uma laranja" (the world as an orange), for example, common objects, such as buckets, brooms, cups, and sneakers are peeled like fruits, sliced or cut into spirals. In the series "Os invisveis" (the Invisibles), apparently inanimate objects-vases, fruit, a bottle of Coca-Cola and even a coconut tree-perform unexpected sudden movements. Subtle and unobtrusive performance places the viewer in a State of alert. Subtle and unobtrusive performance places the viewer in a State of alert. "Bead Beat (Contas & quiques)" (Bead Beat (& Accounts bounces)", is a work presented in 2007 at the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro, presents us with an orchestra of strands of pearls that, digitally controlled, played against the windows of the building. "Cartoon" is, in turn, as a great summary of the work of Ana Linnemann: an extensive set of shelves that lets you browse the various series produced by this talented artist.
