註釋This document provides a critical review on the use of structural measures for water related risks. Focus is given to the following topics: lessons learned from past flood defense strategies and new perspectives; structural measures in landslides and slope constructions; structural measures and return period; deterministic versus probabilistic design. Finally, the document addresses different structural measures adopted for flood protection by analyzing the solutions adopted in some KULTURisk case studies.
