Caleb Blanchard Civil War Era Letters
註釋Letters written to and from Sergeant Caleb Blanchard of Killingly, Connecticut. Blanchard served in the Civil War with the Eighteenth Infantry Regiment, Company B. Most of the letters date between his 1862 enlistment and his 1865 discharge. Blanchard's brother, Horatio Blanchard, served in the same company, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. Caleb Blanchard wrote from such places as Fort McHenry, Harpers Ferry, Hagerstown, and finally the hospital in Clarysville, Maryland. Correspondents included Blanchard's parents, siblings, and cousins.
