It is the 24th century, and downtrodden reporter Trudy Dunlop is having no luck at her job. She is forced to do all the rubbish no-one else can be bothered with, from garden fetes to old time tea dances. This wasn't why Trudy became a journalist. She had been determined to report untoward goings-on in high and low places, tell the public the truth they had a right to know. Then one day she stumbles across the latest plot by the interplanetary government bodies to bring about a war. Before she knows it, however, she has been warned off by a strange little figure in black known only as Stella. Soon Stella is lurking in every dark corner. Trudy is determined to use her journalistic and computer hacking skills to find out more about the corrupt federation's intentions. But she is a mind-natured twenty-something living alone in a big city, a place which for her has become more dangerous than ever.
