The Letters of Arnold Stephenson Rowntree to Mary Katherine Rowntree, 1910-1918
註釋This is an edition of the letters written by A. S. Rowntree, a member of the chocolate-manufacturing family and a Quaker to his wife, M. K. Rowntree, from 1910 to 1918, when he was a Liberal MP for his home city of York. It provides important new information about what backbench MPs actually did and how they saw the world. In particular, it sheds light on how Quakers viewed politics, the problems of pacifists in World War One and how marriage fitted into the life of an early twentieth-century politician.
