Electoral Boundaries Commission
註釋On December 30, 2011 the independent Nova Scotia Electoral Boundaries Commission was appointed by the Select Committee on Establishing an Electoral Boundaries Commission. The current review is the third one carried out in the past two decades by independent commissions to ensure that legislative representation keeps pace with population growth and movement. The process has at its core the objective of voter parity, recognizing that there is a wide range of views and interests to consider in achieving effective representation. The obvious challenge for the Commission and, ultimately for legislators, is to accommodate population shifts and trends in the province while being respectful of geography, community history and interests, and Nova Scotia's linguistic and cultural diversity.
