註釋A survey of Jewish life in Steyr (Austria) from the beginning of their settlement there in the 14th century, and more specifically during the Holocaust period. Mentions signs of antisemitism in the local press in 1896. Pp. 83-139 describe the Anschluss, the increasing reprisals against Jews, Aryanization of Jewish property, the "Kristallnacht" pogrom, and forced labor at the Steyr-M|nichholz labor camp and at the Radom labor camp in Poland, which was a branch of the Steyr factories. Pp. 199-217 contain an interview with the only Jewish inhabitant (1988-89), and the story of three Jewish families, former Steyr citizens, during the Holocaust.
