註釋
Slashburning, or prescribed fire, is a commonly used site preparation practice in British Columbia. The literature reviewed in this report deals primarily with the effects of prescribed fire on site productivity. Results from different studies are often difficult to compare because of the large variability among sites and inconsistent reporting. Prescribed fire can benefit or hurt site productivity, depending on such variables as, the amount and type of slash, the fire weather indices, the timing of logging and burning, and the ecological characteristics of the site.
