The haemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) glycoprotein of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) was amplified from the viral genomic RNA (1.8 kb) and was directionally cloned into a Baculovirus transfer vector. Together with the Baculovirus (AcMNPV) DNA and InsectinePlus liposomes, it was transfected and expressed in Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) insect cells. The analysis of the expressed protein showed heamagglutination, neuraminidase and hemadsorption activities. Further analysis using indirect immunofluorescence gave positive results.
