註釋John Schieber (1844/5-1922) was born in Kitzing, Metz, France. He immigrated to the United States in 1862 with his mother and settled in Dubuque County, Iowa. In 1868 they moved to Conception, Nodaway County, Missouri. He married Henrietta Meyer (1850-1934). Descendants and relatives lived in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Montana, California and elsewhere. Includes chapters on the history of the town of Conception.
