William J. Byron, S.J.
註釋This biography is the storied life and career of Former University of Scranton President and University Professor Emeritus of Business and Society at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, William J. Byron, S.J.. A graduate of St. Joseph's Prep and Saint Joseph's University, Father Byron served in the U.S. Army and the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment in Germany, before entering the Society of Jesus in 1950. Ordained to the priesthood in 1961, he received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1967. His career includes a series of significant academic, administrative, and religious posts. Over the years, Father Byron has lectured extensively, even abroad as he mentions in Jesuit Saturdays: Sharing the Ignatian Spirit with Lay Colleagues and Friends—in Indonesia (Summer 1995) and in Australia (July 1997). Now retired, Father Byron continues to lecture, write, and publish on a variety of topics, from contemporary movements within the Church to ideas concerning value-centered business curricula. Admired for his discerning intelligence, sense of commitment, and the Ignatian practice of cura personalis, Father Byron embodies the highest qualities expected of a Jesuit educator and priest.
